LAMA Digital Strategy

In a simple, user-friendly way, and in order to maximise “buy-in” amongst all stakeholders, LAMA's digital strategy aims to:

  • Publicise who we are and what we do and can’t do.  In doing this, we should try to:
    • Project our community focus.
    • Advertise our trips and loan opportunities.
    • Encourage volunteer involvement.
    • For those who are interested (eg, LAMA committee members, grant providers, regulators), provide links to our underlying constitutional rules and permit regulations (eg, FCA registration, transport permit, insurance), and demonstrate our conformance (eg, general meeting minutes, operating procedures, driver forms).
    • Do online what can be done better, easier or more reliably than what would otherwise be done manually.
  • Do our journey planning online so that anyone with an interest (eg, committee officers, booking clerk, drivers) can:
    • Contribute to that planning.
    • See what has been planned and where there is opportunity to do more (eg, loans, maintenance, training).
    • Disseminate our plans (eg, posters, mail shots, what’s on).
  • Register our passengers online so that:
    • Those who need to know (eg, booking clerk, drivers) can see who is authorised to travel on our minibus and can contact them or their nominated ICE when needed.
    • Authorised passengers can be informed of upcoming trips and they can book themselves or be booked onto trips.
    • Passengers may pay online to reduce cash handling.
  • Register our loan authorisations online so that they can:
    • See when the minibus might be available.
    • Request drivers for their loans.
    • Pay online.
